until you look back.

You noticed my Tabi.
I noticed that you noticed.

we accidentally started talking about ourselves.
I don't remember giving you the book.
I remember your reaction.
Somewhere along the way…
I found myself looking forward to your messages.
Then you bought a book
about the history of photography.
You probably didn't know it.
I never told you.
But it changed something for me.
Photography quietly found its way back into my life.
You once described yourself as
I kept thinking about that word.
More than you probably realised.
It took me a while to realise…
none of these moments were extraordinary.
That was the extraordinary part.
There are people you enjoy talking to.
And there are people who stay with you long after the conversation ends.
Looking back…
I don't think you changed me.
